Masjid Toronto is now established after a long period of search and negotiations with the Vendor. The terms of the purchase, in our estimation, are very reasonable, given the excellent condition of the building, its size and its prime location.

  • Purchase Price: $1,050,000.00
  • GST, lease, taxes etc.: $300,000.00
  • Total Cost: $1,350,000.00

Part of the building sits on a piece of land that is leased. As part of the terms of purchase, Masjid Toronto will assume this lease at approximately $50,000 annually until the lease expires in 2014. Two years prior to the lease expiration, Masjid Toronto will have the option to complete the land purchase.

We are appealing to all Muslims to contribute in the completing of the house of Allah. The prophet (peace be upon him) said in an authentic hadiith “For anyone who builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build him a house in paradise” (Bukhari & Muslim). Finally we would like to thank all those brothers and sisters who have contributed generously in the past. Without their support, we would not have approached this project.
