Muslims have been calling Canada their home for at least 162 years now. Join our Imam as he explores the proud history of Muslims in this land for another community Family Day program at your Masjid. Lunch will be served. Families may bring desserts or cultural dishes to share with all.
Insha’Allah, Masjid Toronto will be hosting Iftar at Masjid Toronto on both the 9th and 10th of Muharram which corresponds to the 10th and 11th of October.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “For fasting the day of ‘Ashura’ (Muharram 10th), I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.” (Muslim)
Ash-Shafi’i and his companions, Ahmad, Ishaq and others said: “It is mustahabb (recommended) to fast on both the ninth and tenth days of Muharram, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasted on the tenth, and intended to fast on the ninth.”

Join Dr. Mostafa Hanout for a program that will focus on helping adults recite the Qur’an correctly and will introduce to them the basics of Arabic language (Arabic for beginners). Starting October 1st; every Saturday after Asr at Masjid Toronto.
Masjid Toronto hosted a special program on ‘Sleep, Sleep Disorders and Sleep Hygiene‘.
Our speakers, Imam Dr. Wael Shehab & Dr. Abdullah Khayat spoke on the Islamic significance and morals of sleep and sleep disorders and sleep hygiene, respectively, specially with the month of Ramadan ahead of us.
A special guest is joining us at Masjid Toronto to talk about a significant and relevant topic of ‘The Objectives of Ramadan and Fasting‘. We welcome everyone to join on Sunday, May 22nd right after Dhuhr (1:30 pm).
Dr. Jasser Auda is the Executive Director of the Maqasid Institute, a global think tank based in London, and a Visiting Professor of Islamic Law at Carleton University in Canada. He is also a Founding and Board Member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.
Lunch will be served after this lecture and a Q & A session.

The topic of this Family Day will be about ‘Preparing for Ramadan’. Joining us will be Shaykh Ahmad Kutty, resident scholar and senior lecturer at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, who will discuss how to prepare and spend Ramadan in the best way.
Lunch will be served. Families may bring desserts or cultural dishes to share with all.
Alhamdulillah Masjid Toronto has been able to secure another unit neighboring our Masjid in Adelaide St. for $1.8 million allowing us to expand our prayer space. This additional space will help us accommodate our ever-growing community and the professionals working in Downtown Toronto.
Help us raise $950,000.00 in the final phase of our project to cover the costs of renovations and repayment of Qard Hasan due in the next six months.
Today if 1000 Muslims, including YOU, pledge to give $40 a week ($160 per Month) till the end of March; our goal would be reached.
Alhamdulillah, Masjid Toronto has two locations in downtown Toronto. The first is Masjid Toronto at Dundas (168 Dundas St. West ) and the second is Masjid Toronto at Adelaide (84 Adelaide St. East). The prayer Adhan and Iqama times are the same in both locations. Also three Friday prayers are given in both locations at the same time. Please check Prayer Times below.
